Bamburg is a very historical town that has recognised by UNESCO for its architecture and charm. The vocal points of this have to be found in the Cathedral and Monastery Quarter of the city. Make sure to get lost in these streets, just remember to bring a camera.

Bamburg is also famous for its many local breweries, distinctive beer culture and cosy beer cellars – so make sure you pick up a guide and go sample some pints – hey it’s a tourist thing to do!

The venue itself is located rather far outside regarding the small size of the city. Therefore, I highly recommend visiting the old town in the city center with its historical (religious) buildings and medieval architecture. Also, the “Bamberger Dom” is definitely something you want to check out before heading towards the stadium.

Bamberg is a beautiful city and well worth a wander around. The whole town is on the UNESCO World Heritage list because of its mediaeval architecture and historical sights, so the day before the game can easily be wiled away wandering through the streets. There’s a huge cathedral with the mysterious “Bamber Rider” statue and – this is Bavaria – plenty of beer gardens that are well worth a visit.
