The stadium is located to the south-east of the city centre, roughly three kilometres away and the main railway station is a bit closer. The stadium itself is surrounded by a shopping complex and a large residential tower.

If you are driving, the venue is right beside the A2 motorway and you get off at the St. Jakob exit. There is plenty of parking available, with 600 spaces at the stadium and a further 1,465 beside it.  The stadium has a dedicated train station that has the same name, with trains taking 8 minutes from the city centre, running on regular intervals.

The tram 14 links the old city centre to the stadium, as well as buses 36 and 37. You could walk the 40 minute journey from the city centre if you wished, but there are many alternative options to choose from.

If you are coming in from outside of town – you will probably be coming in to Basel’s main train station. From the station to St Jakob’s it is around a 3km walk which might be nice if the sun is shining but when the weather isn’t too great, or you just want to get there, there are plenty of tram stops around the city – and Tram 14 will take you directly to St Jakobs Stadium Station.

Otherwise bus numbers 36, 37 and 47 will all take you to the stadium as well.
