As the 2nd most-supported team of all the UK Elite Ice Hockey clubs, with an average attendance of just under 5,000 per game, the atmosphere inside is superb! Ice Hockey isn’t a quiet game, even without any fans. Add in the cacophony of sound from 5,000 screaming and cheering Giants’ supporters and there’s a real racket. There’s actively no sectarian culture to the club, so fans from all different backgrounds and faiths come to support, with no real threat of violence or trouble. It’s a pleasure to be part of that crowd!

The SSE has a capacity of just over 11,000 which gives the place rather an intimate atmosphere compared with other stadiums around the country and the UK. This really works in the arena’s favour though, for both hockey and concerts! When you are at a concert, it really feels like the connection is real with the band/artist, and you are not just another face in the crowd. For Giant’s games as well, everyone there is a proper hockey fan and has all the passion and enthusiasm that you need for a cracking atmosphere.
