As Berlin is one of Europe’s largest and most diverse cities – you can find any type of cuisine. It has a reputation as being an artist’s town – so there are plenty of places you can eat at without breaking the bank!
Mabuhay is one of these places. An Indonesian restaurant that adds a real spice and kick to your day! The restaurant is a little tucked away but worth the effort of getting there. Try the Nasi Goreng or the Beef Rendang!
Flamingo Fresh Food is a perfect lunch spot. It serves up some great salads and sandwiches – perfect for a quick refuel before heading back out on the tourist trail!
Sometime, only a burger will do. It just really hits the spot. Burgermeister has quickly gotten a reputation as having the best burger in the city – make sure to get it with the chili cheese fries. It is quite a hipster place, there are no tables…

The Olympiastadion was built deliberately a long distance from the city centre so nearby options are limited, but the S-bahn connects directly to Charlottenburg’s one of Berlin’s premier restaurant districts. Berlin’s excellent Chinatown is here, as well as countless other high-end eateries. Closer to the ground, try Preußiches Landwirtshaus for an authentic Prussian meal with classics like schnitzel, eisbein and flammkuchen all on the menu. They have a beer garden too, perfect for soaking up the atmosphere as thousands of fans stream out of the adjacent S Bahn station. Directly in front of the stadium is the imaginatively named “Am Olympia-Stadion” restaurant, with all the usual footy fare of bratwursts and beer.

The closest place (300m) is called “Preußisches Landwirtshaus” and represents the place where football fans go to eat on match-days, therefore, nothing too fancy with local dishes. A great beer garden with delicious Austrian dishes is located southwest from the stadium only about 1.5km from the stadium. It is called “Tiroler Bauernstuben”. For a very nice dinner I highly recommend “Epvalis Restaurant Berlin”. Greek restaurant with great food, only 1km east from the stadium.
