As Berlin is one of Europe’s largest and most diverse cities – you can find any type of cuisine. It has a reputation as being an artist’s town – so there are plenty of places you can eat at without breaking the bank!
Mabuhay is one of these places. An Indonesian restaurant that adds a real spice and kick to your day! The restaurant is a little tucked away but worth the effort of getting there. Try the Nasi Goreng or the Beef Rendang!
Flamingo Fresh Food is a perfect lunch spot. It serves up some great salads and sandwiches – perfect for a quick refuel before heading back out on the tourist trail!
Sometime, only a burger will do. It just really hits the spot. Burgermeister has quickly gotten a reputation as having the best burger in the city – make sure to get it with the chili cheese fries. It is quite a hipster place, there are no tables…

The Stadion an der Alten Försterei is in a forest and thus not exactly replete with restaurants, but the area around Köpenick S-Bahn station has all the kebab and noodle joints you could ask for. Burgerbüro, on Bahnhofstraße, is a unique concept, where customers fill out a form detailing exactly what sort of burger they’d like, just like in a government office. It’s a pun – bürger means citizen – showing the famed Teutonic flair for humour while also displaying their love of bureaucracy. The burgers are excellent though.

Berlin is known for its vast and international bar & restaurant scene. You will find numerous places to eat near the metro station “Berlin Köpenick” (500m from the stadium). I highly recommend “Restaurant Hippokrates”, great Greek food and ambiance, maybe a bit pricey. There is also a good Indian place called “Ajanta” which is cheaper, but also offers great dishes. If you just want something quick or to take there is a “Subway”, too.
