The Brummie lot can get pretty rowdy, if you catch them on a bad day. There are always some fans at a football game whose decorum is, shall we say, lacking, at every match. However, Birmingham has a few more of these than most, and can get a bit hostile at times. Be careful bragging about your team’s colours in public.

However, most days the atmosphere is not aggressive and the stadium becomes a hotbed of singing, cheering, clapping and chanting. It’s a great venue for football.

The St Andrews crowd are a great bunch to watch a game with, they care deeply about their football and can turn the ground into an intimidating place to visit for away teams. This atmosphere can also get a bit intimidating for away fans and there have been small skirmishes shall we say after certain games.

It’s just good sense, especially if you win, not to parade your away colors all around town!
