One of the good pubs for a matchday is the Fernhurst, which is actually part of a Hungry Horse restaurant! For anyone who doesn’t know them, that means big portions of hearty, tasty food at a normal price. There’s a warm, family vibe inside, so probably not one for a big group of lads.

If you are a big group of lads, you need a curry house. More specifically, you need the Raj Indian Cuisine and Lounge: phenomenal Indian buffet you can enjoy until it comes out your ears. Nom.

The area around Ewood Park, Bolton Road is full of your typical chippy’s and burger vans – however there is a diamond in the rough – look for the Bolton Road Baker and take a chance on the hot pies that they serve out of the window – trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

A natural stopping point for fans celebrating a victory or commiserating a loss, is Raj Indian Lounge, a literal stones throw from the stadium – they offer cracking food for good prices – and lets be honest, who doesn’t love a curry.

For more quality dining experiences you will have to go back into town – when you’re there you have to try Calypso Caribbean Cuisine for some great flavours or Smokies Southern BBQ for some ribs that you just can’t beat.
