Gillette Stadium more than makes up for its small-town location by making Patriot Place a destination in and of itself. Whether you drive to the game or take the train, make sure to leave yourself plenty of time to check out the restaurants and bars located right on the grounds. Between your tailgate and kickoff, go for a beer at Toby Keith’s or Bar Louie while you watch some pre-game shows, or if you’re interested in a more upscale meal, try a salmon salad at SkipJack’s or a gourmet pizza at Tavolino. Even if you don’t have tickets to the game, the bars at Patriot Place are some of the best in the area for Pats fans.

During the game, regardless of where you’re sitting, make sure to take a walk to the lighthouse and bridge located at the north end of the stadium. You’ll get a great photo op from this fun homage to New England’s nautical surroundings and one of the more unique stadium quirks in the NFL. If your visit to the area lasts longer than just game day, and you have any interest in Patriots history, check out the Patriots Hall of Fame. Tickets are reasonably priced and the exhibits are constantly being updated. Its an added bonus if you can make it on a day in which a former Patriot is being inducted. Parking is free at Patriot Place on non-gamedays, so definitely check out the Hall if you have the opportunity.

Finally, if you chose to drive to the game and aren’t in the mood to tailgate afterwards, the list of activities you have while waiting out the traffic is endless. Visit one of the best pro shops in the entire league for all the Patriots-themed gear, appliances, household items you could possibly ask for. Or, if this isn’t your cup of tea, the Krafts have recently built one of the nicest bowling alleys/bars in the area to keep you on the premises for as long as possible. Touches such as this, along with a movie theater and countless dining options ensure that Patriot Place will entertain even non-football fans who come to visit.
