Things to check out around Stade Michel dOrnano?

Caen has some amazing history, and there are aspects of the Middle Ages and more recent wars all around the city. The cities most impressive place has to be the Abbaye aux Hommes, which is the resting place of William the Conqueror. Also worth a look is his castle that has survived since the 11^th century.

Caen is found in Normandy, which still has the scars of WWII in it – and from the city you can journey out to some of the beaches that were stormed on D-Day such as Juno Beach and Sword Beach!

For something a little more lighthearted, why not take the kids to Festyland, an amusement park with tonnes of rides and fun that is also designed to educate children about William the Conqueror, Vikings and Pirates

There is nothing interesting next to the stadium. However, in the north of the city you have a the chance to see La Colline aux Oiseaux, which is a wonderful park. This is a great idea if you want to enjoy and relax on a Sunday with your family or friends. There you can also find Caen’s memorial, a famous tribute to D-Day.
