If you walk through one of Chemnitz’s lovely parks you will come across Miramar – this really is an almost hidden gem! The view is outstanding and the food is even better. It is classic German food, cooked with a lot of love and care. Big portions are matched with reasonable prices too!
Chemnitz isn’t just about German food though – and there is a restaurant to suit almost every craving! Delhi Palast is the best Indian restaurant in town and has some fantastic dishes. It has a really nice ambience – and the staff will be happy to make the curry as hot as you like it!
If spice isn’t your thing, then perhaps book a table at Pizzeria Adria. This low cost, high quality Italian restaurant is very popular with both locals and tourists so it’s advisable to book a table on race weekends!

The food at the track itself is excellent, with huge grills keeping the bratwursts going the whole weekend long, but if you fancy something a little more sophisticated, then walk into Hohenstein. There are plenty of gaststätte and beer gardens serving German food: Postgut on Friedrichs-Engels-Straße is a particular favourite with eisbein, schnitzel and other hearty favourites.

Closest place to go and eat out is “Colina” only about 200m from the main entrance. Especially their breakfast buffet is something to check out! Another Close place (700m) which comes to my mind is “Gaststätte Klausmühle”. A great place to get traditional German food. It is beautifully located within a big park area, very relaxing and recreational place to have lunch. If you prefer international food there is a super Italian place called “Pizzeria Bella Italia”. Good kitchen and nice ambiance, you won’t be disappointed.
