There isn’t a lot that is close by but downtown Evanston isn’t too far (about 10 minutes away).  Labeled as a “beer paradise” is The World of Beer.  If you are a beer lover this is the bar for you.  Large selection of American and International beers and beer tours also offered.  The menu is typical bar food and they also have live music.  Fun atmosphere.  Bar Louie is also an awesome option.  They have a large selection of sandwiches and burgers and $1 burger days.  Also well known for their hand signature martinis.  Urban type, relaxed atmosphere.
