Cologne Cathedral is the cities crowning jewel and stands high and proud above the city. Climbing the 600+ steps to the top may be a tiring experience but a worthwhile one! For just €3 you can get access to this view, and the sunsets from up top are pretty spectacular!

Chocolate is something that unites almost everyone – so the Chocolate Museum in Cologne is a must see for a lot of people – not only are you surrounded by the stuff, and see how it is made but you can take part in a class, and create your own chocolate treats!

The city is famous for its water – giving its name to men’s scents everywhere. While here, make sure you stop in a perfumery and create your own signature Eau de Cologne! It’s a unique souvenir that can become part of your day to day life!

The arena is only 1.6km away from Cologne’s main attraction, the “Kölner Dom”. It is mainly famous due to its massive size, being the world’s third highest church with a height of approximately 157 meters. Definitely check that out before visiting the stadium. Another very cool thing to check out is the “KölnTriangle”, only 600m from the venue. You can climb the entire building for only 3€ and get a great view over the city and, of course, of the “Kölner Dom”.

The area around the Lanxess Arena, Deutz, is the only part of the inner city on the right bank of the Rhine and this in the evening it offers an excellent view of the river and the skyline of Köln. After a match, grab a beer from a kiosk and wander over to Rheinboulevard, the river path and stop at the Deutz Freitrepper, a section of banked seating designed for relaxing and spending an evening by the waterside.
