The Signal Iduna Park has the highest average attendance in the whole of Europe – so it makes sense that there are lots of options for fans looking to come to the game!

Public transport links in Dortmund are really good and the journey to the stadium couldn’t be easier! The Metro (U-Bahn) is available all over the city, and the 45 and 46 Lines drop you off at ‘Westfalen Stadion Station’ which is only a couple of minutes’ walk away from the ground.

You can catch an overland train from Dortmund’s main station – ride it to the conveniently named ‘Dortmund Signal Iduna Park Station’ and from there it is less than a 5-minute walk! Trains run around 4 times an hour on match days.

Otherwise you can of course drive to the stadium. The area around the ground has over 10,000 spaces that are available to you. You can also park for free at the Dortmund Megastore and catch a shuttle bus to the stadium from there.

Car: Around the stadium there are approx. 10,000 parking lots, follow the signs to ‘Westfallenhalle’, an event hall right next to Signal Iduna Park. Parking is 3-4 Euros, but can be very busy before and after games and events, it can take up to 1,5 hours to leave the lot. I recommend parking at the University parking lot (Otto-Hahn-Straße) where shuttles will take you directly to ‘Signal Iduna Park’ – all for free, if you have your ticket available!

Train & Metro: From Dortmund Central Station hop on the U45 (towards Westfalenhalle / Stadion) which is the last station OR take a regional train to ‘Signal Iduna Park’ Station.

The Signal Iduna Park is to the south of downtown Dortmund and easily reached via public transport. In fact, it is unique in that it has its own U-Bahn station, Stadion, that is only open on matchdays. Take the U45 or U46 lines or the U42 line to Theodor-Fliedner-Heim station. Regional trains stop at the station “Signal Iduna Park” direct from Dortmund Hauptbahnhof and from Dortmund Airport. There is also a park and ride system in operation from the Technisches Universität, where cars can be parked safely.
