What to expect from the Commerzbank Arena crowd?
1 answer
With some of the away fans sharing their stand with a multitude of home fans, a fantastic atmosphere is created that will live long in the memory. This natural give and take between two sets of supporter is amplified by the presence of Frankfurt’s Ultras, G-Block who sit opposite in the South West area of the stand! All this noise creates a fantastic vibe in the arena with every kick of the ball being cheered.

The Frankfurt Commerzbank Arena fits about 51,000 spectators and is usually packed. Eintracht Frankfurt fans are super supportive, but have been pretty rowdy in the past due to the flourishing “Frankfurt Ultras” scene. Don’t get me wrong, the support is great and you will probably hear them singing and cheering for 90 minutes to create a great atmosphere in the stadium. But after the game they have been responsible for numerous little riots or fights with other supporters – a thing we don’t need in our beloved game! To support the home team make sure you are wearing black, red and white.

Frankfurt is one of Germany’s great football clubs and the fans are commensurately impressive. They pack out the stadium every week, despite a team that has been broadly unimpressive for years. The ultras are among the best in Germany if not beyond and a trip to see them is almost worth the entrance alone. You’ll struggle to get a ticket for their section, as entrance is controlled by the groups themselves, but suffice to say if you get the chance, take it.
Because of the fanatical support, Frankfurt have plenty of enemies and games against Bayern, Dortmund, Darmstadt and Mainz have the potential for trouble. Expect a huge police presence and segregation.
