As a UEFA Elite Stadium – it makes sense that the food at the Imtech Arena would be plentiful and of a decent quality. As well as your standard stadium food of Pretzels and Hot Dogs, you can get bigger meals – though they do cost a bit more.

A ‘StadiumWurst’ (Sausage) and fries meal is €7, with the same price for a Curry sausage and fries! If you really want to splash the cash you can pay up to €12 for a large burger, coleslaw and wedges!

Beer is available in the concourses as well, that you can take to your seat for €4. Not too bad.

The beer they sell is “Holsten” and half a liter is 4,20€ which is a bit more than the average in Germany’s Bundesliga stadiums. Food is pretty expensive in the stadium. My preferred option is to go for a “Fischbrötchen”, fish in a roll which is a specialty in northern Germany. The rest is, in my opinion, not really worth it due to the high prices.

Don’t go expecting hamburger, for one. Certainly, don’t go expecting anything special in that regard as they aren’t really from Hamburg. That said, you’ll get a mean bratwurst and a pretzel. Sausages start at €3.50. Beerwise, expect König Pilsner, a fizzy generic lager. Astra is the beer from Hamburg but they’ve thrown their lot in with the hated hipsters of St Pauli, while Becks is from Bremen, HSV’s other rival. So König it is.
