Whilst in Hamburg you should take a trip down to the port. There are two ways to explore the water here – either board a tourist boat that will take you on a tour for €15-20 or you could be frugal and take the ferry bus number 62 for €1.90. It takes you to the fish market, past the modern seaside architecture, the Elb-beach, across the port and back.
To get a great perspective on the city you should ascent the stairs of St. Michael’s Church – don’t worry, there’s a lift to save your legs. The top gives you an amazing view of the city though!
Hamburg Is a wonderful city of waterways and you can take your time on them by hirin a kayak, canoe or a paddleboard. There are rental places all over the waterfront!

The stadium is located within a wide park area called “Volkspark” which is where the venue gets its name from. Perfect to relax before a busy Bundesliga match. Another great thing to visit is the HSV museum which is right next to the stadium. With the team having a great history and remarkable personalities that have played there, I recommend visiting it. Once in Hamburg, you should definitely check out the so-called “Reeperbahn”, the famous red light and bar district. An unforgettable night awaits you!

Hamburg is a great city to visit, though the area around the Imtech Arena rightly features on no tourist itinerary. Instead stick to the city centre, where you take a cruise along the Elbe to get the best possible view of the port, still active and one of the busiest in the world. Afterwards, take a trip to St Pauli for a wander along the world-famous Reeperbahn, a the party street where anything goes. Well, anything but a HSV shirt – this is St Pauli territory.
