Hannover 96 offer stadium tours of the HDI Arena at the really good price of just €7.00 for adults and €4.00 for children. The tour is led by a knowledgeable guide and can take around 90 minutes. You will get to see the VIP areas and the press room as well as the more exiting areas such as the changing rooms and the pitchside dugout!
Otherwise you should connect with nature and take a walk and a picnic in the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen – it really is a sight worth seeing.

If you want to see some interesting parts of Hanover and still stay close to the stadium I suggest you make your way towards a very nice park area called “Maschpark”, only about 800 meters from the venue. You will be surrounded by beautiful nature and two picturesque lakes. Also, there is the new town hall which is free to visit. It has to offer an exhibition of the time during World War 2. Don’t forget to get on the aslant running elevator right in the town hall – a pretty cool thing to do!

Hannover is hardly a tourist destination, but that isn’t to say that it is without charms. If you visit on a day with decent weather, then the walk to the stadium from the city is less of a long schlep and more of a pleasant stroll along the Leine river. Dander through the city centre – hardly the usual mediaeval German fare, as the Allies flattened Hamburg in World War II – until you get to the river, cross it and then follow the water south all the way to the Niedersachsenstadion.
