Best Pubs around John Smith's Stadium?

If you don’t mind mixing it up between home and away fans (that’s how you get the best banter flowing!) then the Gas Club is a great option. Cost a quid to get in, but it’s only 5 minutes’ walk from the stadiums and has a good drinks selection. You can’t go wrong with the Wetherspoons by the train station either: cheap drinks, great atmosphere. At the back of the North Stand there’s also a huge entertainment complex with “The Rope Walk” pub, also a good choice for away fans.

There a few pubs around Huddersfield that are away friendly. That moniker does not extend to The Crescent – a Terriers only pub, it has been known to have trouble after a game. So if you are a Town supporter – there are few better places to have a pre-game bevvy, but stay clear if you’re in away colors.
If you don’t mind mingling with home fans then pop into the Rope Walk – its mainly Huddersfield fans but if away fans are behaving themselves there is rarely any trouble!
For more away friendly pubs – The Head of Steam is located in the station itself which is very handy, and The Peacock and Slubbers Arms are welcoming and serve some great beer.
