A thing which is often criticized by guest fans is the catering inside of the stadium. Due to its size there are not too many food stands which sometimes makes it pretty exhausting to get yourself a beer or a “Bratwurst”. I recommend getting these items shortly before halftime break or shortly after. Beer is rather cheap with a price of 3.20€ for 0.4 liters, a Bratwurst is 3€. Other options to eat are “Currywurst” or “Leberkäse”, two additional typical German food items, very delicious.

Although the stadium is only a few years old, it’s fair to say the food and drink facilities are fairly underwhelming. Yes, there is of course food and drink for sale, but it is rather basic stuff that you will find in grounds all over the world. Sausages and Burgers take precedence as well as some good German Beer. With the effort of having to buy a cashless card and top it up to buy some rather bland food – it might not be worth the effort.

Bavaria is home to the highest density of breweries of anywhere in the world, so the beer is excellent. It’s also home to some of the most expensive beer in Germany, and Ingolstadt charge €4 a pint, towards the upper end of the scale. Herrnbrau is the tipple of choice and the quality is certainly high. Bear in mind that alcohol is always banned in the away end, regardless of any rivalry with Ingolstadt and banned against Augsburg in the home sections as well. Spoilsports.
