Best Bars around Fritz Walter Stadion?

Bier Brez’l might not look like much, and is very much a locals place – however there is a draw to the place – it serves a metre of beer for €15. There’s a challenge if I ever saw one!
One of the more fun places in town – Maloneys Irish Bar has developed a reputation of being a great place to get a pre-match drink. With it being popular with tourists and locals, you’re bound to find some fellow football fans to enjoy a drink or two with.
If you are looking for a place to have a few drinks after the game, then Central might be the place for you. In the day it’s a coffee bar, but at night time it turns into a bit of a club that will stay open as long as you want it.

Bars are at a premium around the stadium but the city centre is full of watering holes. Big matches will inevitably pack out The Snug, an Irish bar on Steinstraße, where they will have live music, flowing beer and sport on the TV. On thing to watch out for as a tourist in Kaiserslautern is that the city is often full of Americans, as the US has an Air Base and several barracks around the town. Locals are generally friendly towards the Americans but big groups of soldiers can cause problems.

Right behind the stadium you will find the club home of “1. FC Kaiserslautern” which is usually busy right before a match. Great beer! Most local fans meet at the pub “12. Mann” hours before every match to chat about their beloved team. It is about 600m from the stadium, simply cross the railway and directly head towards Kaiserslautern Central Station. Be aware, that this place usually gets really crowded on match days!
