What to expect from the Elland Road crowd?

There’s no love lost between Leeds and a number of rivals (like local side Bradford or old enemies Manchester United) so expect a bit of aggression from the home fans. Don’t go showing your club colours off away from the stadium (either in town or just outside) as you could attract the wrong kind of attention.

However, for all that, once you’re in your seat and the game has started, the atmosphere can be electric. It’s not quite like the old Premier League days, but it’s a great day of football nonetheless.

There was a time where Leeds were contenders for the Premier League title and were competing regulaly in Europe. Alas those games are long gone – but don’t tell the fans that. The Elland Road faithful are a passionate and proud bunch and will roar their team on for over 90 minutes.

With the away fans sort of tucked into a corner, most of the noise is generated by the competing North and South stands – both trying to outdo each other and steadily increasing the noise!
