Things to check out around Red Bull Arena?

One of Leipzig’s prime attractions is its famous Zoo. Renowned as one of the best zoo’s in Europe – you can see all types of animals here – it’s a great day out for any group of people, be it a boy’s tour, or a family outing.

Leipzig is also home to some phenomenal architecture – with St Thomas and St Nicholas’s churches both being very special places to visit. The Panorama Tower is worth ascending to the top of to take in the whole city view!

The Train station (Hauptbahnhof) is worth a visit even if you are not going anywhere – it has some great shopping so if Leipzig lost their game, you can have some well-deserved retail therapy.

The arena itself is located within short distance to the city center where you will find Leipzig’s most interesting sights and things to do. They have a lot of memorials of World War 2, also beautiful and historical buildings like the “Thomaskirche”. I definitely recommend a stroll through the old town before a match, you will be thrown right into Germany’s war history and dark times. If traveling with your children, the best thing to do is visit the “Leipzig Zoo”, probably the most interesting sight of Leipzig. It is only about 800 meters from the stadium.
