A frequently visited pub by locals and the most famous for the match day ritual is the Sandon. It has cheap ale prices, is around 1-2 minute walk from the stadium and is incredibly friendly. Fans visit before and after to enjoy the lead up and the result (and often drown their sorrows if needed) but there is always singing, a ton of people and a great meet up for local fans!
Little tip: for big matches, 30 minutes before kickoff is the perfect time that people start leaving and buzzing ready for the match and they will sing down the road to the stadium!

To mix and mingle with both home and away fans, check out either The Arkles, or The Sandon. Both will be packed full of supporters right until kick-off; if you go too late, you might not even get in. However, playing sardines with half of Liverpool is a great way to talk to other fans, meet new people and get excited for the game.
Drinks aren’t too pricey, but you should get a few rounds in at a time, since queues will be long!
Both are within a stone’s throw of the stadium, so you can easily linger until half an hour before kick-off.

Anfield has a wealth of pubs that surround the stadium, all of which will be packed on a match-day. The most popular of them all has to be ‘The Albert’; the legendary Liverpool pub is right next to the noisy Kop Stand and will always be full on a game day so be prepared to wait! As it is well known it has become a bit of a tourist trap so watch out for prices. If the ‘Albert’ is too busy, then you don’t have to walk far. Across the road is ‘The Park’ another lively pub filled with singing home supporters. On the other side of the stadium, near the Anfield Road End, Away fans are welcomed at ‘The Arkles’. As with all busy pubs, come expecting a small wait.
