With a capacity at around 39,000 the atmosphere can be electric on the right days. While you have to be careful about your seating choices, particularly if you are in the away crowd, this stadium caters to family with its own seating section, prices and food options so it should make for a fun, family day. While food and drink are scarce in the venue, outside and around doesn’t disappoint with local hangouts and both teams mingling there are very few “feuds” which lead to a more relaxed environment. Liverpool City Center is also only a short drive away with ample nightlife, travel links and activities to make it a full day out.

Goodison Park is built entirely with football in mind, and it shows in two ways. On one hand, as mentioned there’s a real feeling of history. The home fans are fiercely proud of their stadium, and some view it as almost holy ground! There’s a warm atmosphere and every game feels like home. On the other hand, the construction is pretty old-fashioned: awkward beams, low roofs and uncomfortable chairs. For all that, if you find yourself with a chance to enjoy a game at Goodison, you’ll rue the decision if you turn it down!
