Most of the atmosphere and the vocal support comes from fans housed in the Rookery Stand behind the goal. However the whole ground has a great feel to it and away fans need not feel intimidated. The compact nature of the stadium ensures that there is always a loud and bubbling atmosphere.

The Away fans are seated next to the family area, directly across from the lively Rookery Stand, thus there is often ‘competitions’ between each set of fans with a fair amount of give and take.

Watford FC also is proud of its team of ‘roadies’ who are all dressed in vivid green jackets and are on hand to offer support and advice to visiting fans and tourists.

The Vicarage Road Stand, where the away supporters are seated, is shared with the home crowd; they are, however, separated by sheets of netting and a couple columns of chairs. The Watford crowd are, generally speaking, an upbeat and positive bunch who just love their football! There’s none of the intimidation or violence threat you can get at some grounds, and most fans agree that a game at Vicarage is an afternoon well spent.
