There’s nothing that says “matchday” quite like a long trip to a warm pub full of cold beer. Unfortunately, the once-thriving bars located near the stadium are depleted, with more than a few closing their doors over recent years. However, there are a few havens for away fans! The Harringey Irish Centre opposite White Hart Lane station has big screens and a friendly vibe. You can even park there! Otherwise, Elmurst has 5 screens (and isn’t far from the venue) and you aren’t far from central London if you’d rather drink there first.

Arguably the most popular place on a Spurs match day is ‘The Bricklayers Arms’, a proper supporters pub with memorabilia, scarves and programs covering the walls. It’s location, only a minute from the stadium, means that it can get full very quickly on game days. As such you might want to go across the road to the ‘Bell and Hare’ and enjoy the largest beer garden in Tottenham.

Another local pub is the Antwerp Arms, run by the local community, it was saved from redevelopment, with some money donated from Tottenham Hotspur FC itself!

The best place for away fans to drink is the Harringey Irish Club, across the road from the stadium which has good food, drinks and importantly parking for £15.

For home fans and tourists, the No.8 Tottenham pub is a favorite, particularly because it also doubles up as a basic hostel with dorms above for overnight staying for those coming from afar. It is a classic pub and only a 5-10 minute walk from the stadium so fills up pretty quickly on matchdays. Alternatively for those looking for more of an atmosphere, the Tottenham fans’ favorite is The Bricklayers which is a short 10-15 minute walk and is a popular choice for pre or post-match drinks and meet ups. It is a noisier pub and would be considered bustling but also friendly to tourists (as long as you aren’t wearing away colors as you won’t be permitted entry).

For visiting away fans, pub choices are fairly limited close to the ground due to recent closures however the Elmhurst is a large Edwardian pub that is only a 10 minute walk from the stadium and shows the matches on large screens. It is a great pub with a friendly atmosphere and most fans (home and away) freely mix. It is important to note for away fans that if you are wearing your team kit or colors you may find yourselves turned away from a lot of local pubs until you get further into central London so many choose to meet up and have a drink beforehand.
