Don’t feel guilty about not wanting to eat French food in France – maybe you’ve had enough of it – maybe it’s just not your cup of tea. Either way, your guilt will give way to satisfaction when you sit down at Basilico Bistro. The best Italian restaurant in Lorient is has an owner from Naples, and serves up some authentic cuisine at good prices. It’s a cozy little place, so it might be worth reserving a table but they have some cracking mains – as well a Tirimisu that you have to try – or even a great affogado coffee!

La Guimbarde has been an institution in Lorient for over 20 years, and it’s easy to see why. As well as some amazing food, it is a beautiful and laid back restaurant, found in the middle of the city. It offers something different with there being several fixed price menus to choose between. While your there be sure to try the special Breton punch, a combination of lime, white rum, cane sugar and Muscadet served in a ceramic Celtic horn. A photo opportunity that tastes great!

L’Alhambra is a very nice place to go, it is affordable and yet it serves amazing French food and good wine as well. Le Clos Margaux is one of the best restaurant in the city. It is serving typical food from Brittany. Menu is only in French but waiters and waitresses are very helpful and can help you to choose. They are famous for their sea food, so give it a try!
