All fine unless you wear the wrong Jersey. I was at Staples for a xmas day game vs. Miami and I wore a Lebron Jersey. It was all going fine until half time when I tried to buy some drinks and was Booed by everyone around me!

The area surrounding the Staples Center is safer in comparison to other arenas in major metropolitan areas such as the United Center. The Staples Center is located in a downtown area next to the LA Live entertainment district, as opposed to the United Center, which is located on the west side of the city far removed from downtown.

As mentioned before, it’s located in the entertainment district, so there is normally a ton of foot traffic, which in itself will lead to a more safe environment. Of course, always be safe and vigilant, but you should be in no danger as the Staples Center is very safe!
