Traffic during holidays or all-fan giveaways is problematic, especially since road construction season is essentially year-round.  Instead of taking the major interstate highways to the stadium, I find that if you’re south of the stadium to use National Ave or Greenfield Ave to get to Miller Parkway quicker.  If you’re North and West of the stadium, taking Bluemound Rd to one of the side streets north of Bluemound and walking is a great alternative to the parking lot logistics.

The lack of roads connecting to these parkings lots creates a traffic headache at the end of every game. What is equally frustrating is the lack of public transportation serving the stadium since it isn’t downtown. While Milwaukee has a relatively comprehensive bus network, it is nonetheless slow and does not effectively serve more than a few adjacent neighborhoods without connections – a mixture that makes driving the preferred method of getting to and from the park.

The traffic can be quite a problem depending on what else is going on.  It seems like they didn’t design the park in a good spot and it doesn’t help that there is no public transportation going to the game which means that everyone and I mean everyone drives to the game.

I didn’t experience any traffic while I was driving though, but maybe that was because we went to a game on a Tuesday afternoon during the early summertime. I know that had we gone on a Saturday during the middle of July – it would probably be a different story. I guess the traffic is all dependent on when you go the stadium.
