Borussia Mönchengladbach offers fervent fans the opportunity to walk in their favorite players footsteps and embark on an hour and a half tour of the stadium. Although the tours can’t take place on a gameday, they do operate the day before. Fans can see the press areas as well as the more interesting changing rooms, a walk down the tunnel to pitchside and see the dugout! Tickets are a bargain at €9.00 for adults and €4.00 for children under 14.

With the stadium being so far outside, it is hard to find any fun things to do near the venue. If you have the time, make sure you go and see the old town with some nice architecture and historical sights. For bigger groups of men I can highly recommend the various fun parks all around the city – including laser tag, escape the room and paintball. In Gladbach they seem to have one of the best amusement park options available in the entire region.

Mönchengladbach as a city really has very little going for it outside of Borussia. The history of the town in invariably linked to the history of the football club and thus it makes sense to take the stadium tour, where you can experience the inner workings of a modern stadium while also learning about the great Fohlen teams of the 70s, when Berti Vogts and Gunther Netzer made Borussia one of Europe’s real powerhouses. The tour costs €15 for adults, €14 for kids.
