If you’re a visiting fan with a gammy leg or are acrophobic, I wish you the best of luck! Away fans are tucked up in the top tier of the Sir John Hall Stand, which is 14 flights of stairs tall…

However, the mammoth ascent is totally worth it when you see the spectacular views: of course there’s the whole pitch and the rest of the stadium, but also the Newcastle skyline is gorgeous by night.

The seats themselves are cosy, with loads of room and can’t really be faulted!

The seats are great and the legroom is more than acceptable – however for away fans, the challenge is getting to the seats in the first place. Bring your hiking shoes as the away section is 14 flights of stair directly up! When you get to the top, there are great views of the city – though you are a fair way from the pitch and unless you have binoculars the players numbers may get a bit blury.

For the avid home fan – you have to take a seat in the Gallowgate Stand and join in with the geordies as they cheer on their heroes for 90 minutes and more!
