Like many teams in England, the once-famed atmosphere of Carrow Road has dwindled down to a paltry amount of clapping and the occasional half-hearted anthem. The home fans seem to only get properly involved when their team is winning games and doing everything right; a good atmosphere needs that support for the full 90 minutes, and it has been lacking at Carrow Road of late.

However, for away fans, they usually carry themselves proud and make the home crowd seem positively mute. If you travel to the game with the away supporters, you’re in for a good time.

The atmosphere has taken a blow at Carrow Road in recent months – from suffering relegation to languishing near the middle of the Championship, the home fans haven’t had a lot to cheer about. In fact recent studies have shown that Carrow Road has one of the least intimidating atmospheres in the football league. When there is a buzz, it is because the home and away fans tend to sit near one another – thus, if one side is up for some banter and songs, the other side will invariably get on it too.
