The buzz that is associated with stadiums normally is focused on what is happening on the court or the pitch, not the outside surroundings – but then again, not many stadiums are as close to the beach as the Stadio Adriatico. The 24,000 seater stadium is not one of the newest or indeed isn’t cutting edge, but the football twinned with the sea air, makes for a special experience – though do look out for the longer than usual lines at half time!
