Best Bars around Cardiff City Stadium?

With the new stadium only a (long) stone’s throw from the old Ninian ground, the home fans tend to stick to their roots and visit the same pubs as always. If you’re an away fan, generally stay clear of the pubs in that area, as they aren’t terribly welcoming.

Fear not however. While the other options are few and far between, they do exist. There’s the Gol Centre (an indoor footie venue) or the Canton Rugby Football Club on the same street which also has a bar.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of great options near the ground if you are an away supporter. Home fans tend to use their old haunts in the area where the old stadium was and away fans venturing into this area isn’t advisable. There are a couple of away friendly places on Lawrenny Avenue though to call them pubs would be a stretch. The Gol 5 a-side centre and Lawrenny Rugby Club both have licensed bars; but honestly, I’d stick to the city centre.
