Despite being out of the Premier League, Reading’s prices are right up there with the big guns at £4.50 for a pint of Fosters or Courage Bitters. Guinness and Strongbow fetch £4.70 a pint (?!) so maybe just drink away from the stadium? The food is a bit better (in terms of pricing anyway) with decent pies, pasties and hot dogs for £3.50. Unusually, you can get pizza (5” and a ludicrous £3.50) but a nice novelty, if nothing else.

There are a lot of options for food around the Madejski – just outside the ground there are plenty of vans and catering units serving burgers, sausages, hog roast and fish & chips! Not bad at all.
Inside the stadium, you will find food similar to other football grounds around the country. Pies cost £3.80 but there is a great range of flavors – why not get it with mash and gravy for £6.50.
Burgers range from £4.50 to £6, depending on if you want it to be gourmet or not. Unlike other grounds they also have Pizza and Soup for £3.50 and £2.70 respectively.
The beer is a bit spendy but the range is fairly good. Amstel and Heineken are £4.20 a pint, and Good Old Boy Ale for £4.60
