There’s only one thing to advice all the fans and people coming to munich. Combine a football trip with a visit of the world famous “Oktoberfest”. Every year, in the last week of September and first week of October Munich hosts the world’s biggest beer festival right in the city. An event, you simply cannot miss. Also, the atmosphere inside the stadium will be special during this time, with all the fans wearing their traditional clothes called “Lederhosen”, even the Bayern Munich players go there.

The Allianz operates a no cash policy in the stadium, unless you are having a sit down meal in the on-site restaurants. They prefer to use the ‘Arena Card’. You can buy these cards, that come with a €10 balance on them automatically, on the walk up to the turnstiles outside the ground as well as some sales carts that roam the stadium. Important to remember, otherwise getting a beer may prove difficult!

Inside the indoor beer garden is the Bayern Spielwelt – a full kids’ play area. Rarely is getting to the ground super early a good option, but at the Allianz Arena, you can bring the whole family and while you sip your beer, snack on Bavarian gastronomic classics and generally get in the food, the nippers can play away to their hearts content.
