Best Pubs around The All England Lawn Tennis Club?

One of the fan favorites is The Earl Spencer which has been recommended for many London awards for the last 3 years and is only a short 5-8 minute walk from The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. This Edwardian pub serves food and drink and during Wimbledon, fills up fast so booking is definitely recommended.

The Dog & Fox is also a favorite as it is a lively pub that also offers boarding for those who are travelling from afar and while it is about 10-15 minute walk away it is a friendly, traditional British pub (and it has free Wi-Fi which is a bonus). If you can’t get tickets for some of the Wimbledon days, this is the place to watch live sports as they have big screens and a beer garden making it perfect during the summer.

For other options, simply walk towards Wimbledon common or tube station (about 13 minutes away from the grounds) and you will find another selection of pubs, bars and restaurants to tickle your fancy.

As you’d expect from the home of British tennis, there are plenty of spectacularly nice bars and pubs in the area. The Dog & Fox is only a stone’s throw away, serving a delicious range of fresh, balanced meals. The Rose & Crown offers splendid outdoor seating in a lovely, cobbled garden. A personal favourite has to be Hemingways; what better way to enjoy the sun just round the corner from the court than perfectly crafted cocktails?

Especially during the championships. “The Dog and Fox” is one of the busiest pubs in town; with a beer garden, a bbq and 5 big screens showing all the tennis, it is a popular spot that fills up quickly! If it is too busy – head to “The Alexandra”, Wimbledon’s liveliest pub has a roof terrace which is a great spot to watch the sunset from.

The closest pub to the venue itself is ‘The Rose and Crown’, a traditional pub that dates back to 1659, it is popular because of it’s great selection of ales and beers – as well of the marque tent that is set up in the summer – showing all the tennis you can handle.

If you want something a bit different then head to Hemmingways – a cocktail bar with expert mixologists – make sure to book a table though!
