Great Answer Detroit is still Detroit even though they have cleaned up things around the stadiums. I would suggest going in groups to bars and restaurants and try not to stay out past midnight.

The downtown area has been cleaned up but it is still not that great and I wouldn’t venture many blocks in either way from the stadium. There are police monitoring the area but just walk in a group and get to where you are going fast.
