I think there’s a fair percentage of the crowd still pining for ‘the good old days’ when Shearer had Blackburn winning the top-flight, and so the atmosphere inside the stadium can get pretty flat. Their away stand is usually thriving (because away fans are almost always hyped up for the trip!) but it’s not enough to carry the rest of the crowd. On a bad day, maybe if it’s raining or Rovers are having showing some rust, you can expect the stands to be seriously quiet.

Blackburn have gone through some pretty turbulent times lately and the current team are a long ways off the glory days of old. The team are teetering around the bottom end of the Championship and aren’t getting much help from the home fans. The most animated you will see the fans are when they are staging another protest against the owners. The fans want them gone and there is always a degree of animosity in the air.
If there is a good atmosphere, it is, unfortunately to say, brought by the away fans.
