What to expect from the St. James' Park crowd?

The atmosphere is usually pretty good. When you have 50,000 people in a single stadium, it’s not easy to have silence and the home fans don’t have any intentions of letting that happen! They are a loud, loud group of people. There’s singing, chanting and usually banter between the home and away fans, which is always great to see in the modern game.

The atmosphere in St James park is always loud – the fans might not always be happy about what they are seeing on the pitch that boy will they let the players know about it. However these fans are among the most passionate and loyal supporters you will find in professional football. From a rocky last few seasons fighting relegation – Newcastle are flying high in the championship – with a top tier manager and their team scoring 3-4 goals a game; there is much reason for optimism at St James’!
