In keeping with the stunning, well-run stadium, the crowd does nothing other than provide a brilliant atmosphere. They love their football and have an admirable determination in trying to prove themselves equal to the rest of the league, resulting in constant cheering, clapping and undeterred enthusiasm. There’s rarely any issue with violence or aggressive behaviour, but obviously if you come away with a win, don’t go rubbing it in!

Southampton have been at the forefront of the South coast footballing revolution in recent years and have sprung up from being a League One team to a very tricky team to play in the Premiership. No matter what happens with players being sold – the club always seems to find some new diamond in the rough that keeps the good times rolling at St Mary’s. The ground is a friendly one to go to, people here are passionate about their football which always contributes toward a great atmosphere! Fantastic!
