WACA Ground, Nelson Crescent, East Perth, Western Australia, Australia
The Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) was officially formed on the 25th of November, 1885. The first grandstand was built in 1895, with seating for 500 people. The WACA now has 8 stands spread around the ground, and two grass banks on the East and West sides. AFL was played at the venue in the early days of the West Coast Eagles, prior to their move to Subiaco.
With a capacity of 22,000, the atmosphere is electric. The Perth Scorchers have been a welcome addition to the West Australian sporting landscape and the crowd numbers have reflected their success. Location wise, the WACA is ideally located on the banks of the Swan River, and in close proximity to Perth CBD.
