What to expect from the DW Stadium crowd?

The stand just adjacent to the away area (left of the North Stand) is where the rowdier Wigan fans assemble. There’s a good bit of singing, lots of chanting, cheering, hissing and oooh-ing at the right moment, so it’s a pretty fun experience. The stadium is pretty loud, so that helps build a bit of atmosphere, even during a quiet game. There aren’t many issues between fans, so you should be safe to display your colours (sensibly) to/from the game.

Although it has a reputation of being more of a rugby town than a footballing one, the fans that turn up to the DW are as passionate and as enthusiastic as any around the country. There is a family feel to the stadium, with large numbers of seats being designated for a family area.

However a great atmosphere is generated – the fact that the home and away supporters are seated pretty much right next to each other gives a fantastic vibe to the stadium, with fantastic banter and cheers being dolled out by both sets of fans.
