Best Bars around Signal Iduna Park (Westfalenstadion)?
1 answer
In the shadow of the big stadium lies Strobels Bar – come for the large terrace and stay for the atmosphere and the beer! If you get peckish just head next door to one of the many Bratwurst stalls – Kronen Biergarten is a fan favourite!
Rosenterrassen is conveniently located near the Westfallen U-Bahn station, with a great outdoor area from which you can see the stadium.
If you want to stay in town to do your drinking there are plenty of options there as well. Brauhaus Wenkers is a great place that brews it’s own beer and has plenty of screens that show the run up to the match.

The absolute Number 1 spot to go after a Borussia Dortmund home game is ‘Strobels‘. This is where all the fans gather and meet to have a couple of cold beers and a chat about the game. Don’t expect anything fancy, but get ready for great atmosphere and passionate fans! Can get pretty crowded before and after games. Another place to be not far from the stadium is ‘Roadhouse Music Club‘ with American-style dishes and local beer. Also, the ‘Alter Markt‘ and the ‘Kreuzviertel‘ are fantastic bar areas to check out before the game.

The Signal Iduna Park was built with thousands of visitors in mind so there are plenty of options. Hardcore fans congregate at Strobels – so close to the stadium that you can actually bring you drink onto the terraces – and Gaststätte Rote Erde, part of the original Dortmund stadium across the road. Wander up to the Westfalenhallen for a slightly nicer surroundings of the Rosenterassen, though wherever you go you’re still going to be thronged by Dortmund fans – there are 80,000 for every home game, and they have to drink somewhere!
