Best Food and Drink at RheinEnergie Stadion?
1 answer
The food and drink on offer here is actually not too bad. They have a decent range of Bratwursts on offer – including the delicious Currywurst as well as some ‘Arena burgers’. All of these can be bought on their own or with fries as part of a meal deal. The quality of the food is very good and the prices are reasonable. There is of course beer to be bought – just don’t forget the cup ‘rental’ cost – which you can get back at the end.

There is only one thing to recommend when visiting the stadium: Grab a Kölsch (local beer) and have the delicious “Stadionwurst”, a very aromatic sausage in a roll. Prices are moderate and about average compared to all the other stadiums in Germany. Half a liter of beer is 4€, however, you will get a “Bratwurst” for 3€ which is not too bad. I don’t recommend going for a pretzel which is 3€, too. You can pay by cash at all food stands which is a very convenient thing.

FC Köln fans love their food. The club know this, so they’ve gone one further than just a stadium map for tickets, they have one for food too! Standard favourites like bratwurst, currywurst and pizza are all available while a local twist is Reibekuchen, fried potato pancakes.
Beer is everywhere and the locals prefer Kölsch, a style with a little more head and a lighter colour than the standard lager. Don’t insult it, as Kölners are incredibly protective of their native brew, especially when compared to Alt-Bier, the beer of hated Düsseldorf. Gaffel is the brand and it costs €3.90 a pint.
