Best restaurants near RheinEnergie Stadion?

You wouldn’t necessarily expect Cologne to have some incredible Korean food, but you may be glad to know that it does. Bulgogi Haus is one of the top restaurants in town and offers up some amazing dishes – cooked all in front of you, traditional style.
If you are after something a little bit different then book a table at Shaka Zulu! This place is always packed out and it’s easy to see why. They cook the best of African food and present it to you with a choice of 3, 6 or 9 dishes from the menu. Think African style tapas!
However, when in Cologne you should try traditional German food at least once, and Lommerzheim is the perfect place. One of the best German places in town – it serves up great food at reasonable prices!

If you want to go for a very nice lunch before or dinner after a game I highly recommend “Club Astoria” (300m away). Beautifully located right next to a lake and great German and Mediterranean food. This is a pretty fancy option though. Similiar to this and also only 300m from the venue is the restaurant called “Börsen Restaurant Maitre”. If you are looking for cheaper possibilities, there is an extraordinary Spanish restaurant called “Stadtwaldgarten” only 600m from the venue. They serve really great Tapas. You can also find good Italian food at “Trattoria Stella” (700m). McDonald’s is not far from the stadium, too.

It says everything that the best that the RheinEnergie Stadion has to offer for a pre-match meal is the nearby KFC and Burger King. Other than those two, and the food in the stadium, there isn’t much to write home about, though if you depart the tram a stop early, there are a few restaurants of higher quality to be found on the cross of Aachenerstraße and Alter Militäring.
That said, if you are lucky enough to get a hospitality ticket, you can eat at the Lukas Podolski Lounge, probably the only stadium restaurant named after a currently-active player. Poldi is a god in Cologne, an ultra who made it into the team and they love his as much as he loves them.
