Although the town is a fairly small one – the presence of car giants Volkswagen, means that there are some decent options for dinner and lunch in Wolfsburg.
Vietnamese food seems to be very popular in Germany, and there is another cracking restaurant here – Annam gives some classic Vietnamese dishes an elegant spin and classes them up a bit resulting in a great dining experience.
Aqua is the best restaurant in town and is perfect if you are celebrating something. The service is excellent and you really feel like you are a valued guest, rather than just a paying customer. The food is fantastic – and for a restaurant with 3 Michelin Stars it should be!
Das Brot is just outside the AutoStadt museum and is definitely worth taking a pit stop for some lunch at. They make some unbelievable sandwiches on some artisanal bread – perfect with a delicious cup of coffee.

Only 500m west of the stadium there’s an area with three different restaurants which are all kind of close to the Wolfsburg harbor. All facilities offer a great dinner opportunity after an eventful match. They are all right next to the water which means beautiful views and atmospheres. The restaurants are called “Beef Club Wolfsburg”, “Terra” and “Restaurant Aqua” with the last one being my personal favorite. Keep in mind that all these 3 options are pretty pricey.
If you only want to have a rather cheap snack before a game, you will have to walk a little bit further towards the city center. There are various options like “Vapiano” (Italian), “Sausalitos” (Mexican) or some Asian places.
Cross the bridge and keep left and you can also find “McDonald’s”, only about 500m from the venue.

The city centre of Wolfsburg is right by the stadium and is the obvious place to go after a match to have a sit down meal. Italian restaurants are particularly popular, not surprising given the huge numbers of migrants who came from Italy to work in the auto factories. Azzurri Ristorante on Heßlinger Straße and Pizza AMano on Parkstraße (right next to the VW museum in Autostadt) are highly recommended by locals.
