If you’re willing to sacrifice convenience for a 20-25 minute walk, then there is street parking available within a 1-2 mile radius. It’s a risk though, since it’s really down to chance.
The better option is to arrive by public transport. If you’re staying in Bristol, then aim for a train to Parson Street. It’s about a mile from the stadium, but as close as you’re going to get. For those travelling from out of town, there’s an hourly (twice-hourly just before kick-off) train from Temple Meads to Parson Street, so it should be plain sailing.

Because of the ongoing development at Ashton Gate, there is no on-site parking at the stadium – however there are alternatives.
Avonline car park is only a 10 minute walk to the stadium – however the club are operating a free shuttle bus service, to the stadium and then back to the car park!
If you’re coming by train and arrive in Bristol’s main stations – Temple Meads or Parkway. Grab the train to Weston-Super-Mare, and get off at Parsons Street Station, and take a 15 minute stroll to Ashton Gate.
