How do I get to Imtech Arena (Volksparkstadion)?

Car: You may want to get on the highway A7 to get into Hamburg and get off at the exit “Hamburg-Volkspark”. From there it is only a few kilometers until you reach the stadium, simply follow the signs towards “Volksparkstadion” or simply “Stadion”. There are many parking lots available around the stadium, parking is 5€
Metro: There are three metro lines operating around the stadium which are viable to take on a match day. Coming from Central Station you may want to hop on the S3 towards Pinneberg or S21 towards Elbgaustrasse. Get off at “Stellingen – Volksparkstadion”. Shuttle buses will then pick you up and take you rightaway to the venue. The line S11 is another viable option which takes you to “Othmarschen”. There are also Shuttle Buses operating from here.

The Volksparkstadion is a decent distance from the centre of town, but this being Germany, it is still pretty easy to get to. S-Bahn services run to Stellingen and Eidelstedt – line S21 – and either is about a quarter of an hour by foot from the ground. Those coming by car are well served too: the Imtech Arena is right by the autobahn and there is plenty of parking. It’ll set you back around €5, while the public transport price is included in your match ticket so that’s generally the better option.

You can catch the S-Bahn tram from most places in the city to either ‘Stellingen station’ or ‘Othmarschen station’ that are both on the S3, S11 and S21 lines – these are the nearest stations to the stadium and although they are a 15 minute walk away, if you don’t fancy walking, there is a free shuttle bus that you can hope on! It starts running 3 hours before kick-off.
