What to expect from the White Hart Lane crowd?

The atmosphere in White Hart Lane at the minute is an odd one, with construction and redevelopment going on in some areas of the ground, there is a sense that Spurs fans are eager to get into their brand new 61,000 seat stadium which will be ready next year.
The noisy fans are often found in the South Stand, although these seats don’t offer the best views, they have the best atmosphere surrounded by passionate singing fans. Be sure to sing along to the Spurs version of ‘When the Saints/ Spurs Go Marching In’.
Away fans are seated in the corner of the Upper South Stand, which makes for close proximity between home and away supporters, however most away fans have pleasant enough experiences!
White Hart Lane is home to 2 large ‘jumbotron’ TV screens, something that sets it apart from other grounds, with in game highlights and statistics being shown which adds to the atmosphere.

It is a fantastic atmosphere, in part because the stadium is entirely enclosed which adds to the buzz in the air. Away fans are seated together separate to the home fans between the South and West stands and has a ticket allocation of around 3,000 if needed and can extend into both the lower and upper tiers. There is always plenty of banter between home and away supporters although stewards can be tough on visiting fans if they are too rowdy.
Visiting fans should be aware of the rivalry between Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal which could create some tensions at these matches however they shouldn’t be dangerous. Be sure to avoid arsenal kit or colors if you are visiting just to be on the safe side.
There is usually a lot of singing and chanting at Spurs games and one of the funniest is this chant about Adele, sung to the tune of her hit “make you feel my love”:
Adele would love to see Spurs win that’s true,
so the Yids are gonna see that through,
’cause there’s nothing Spurs wouldn’t do,
to make a yid feel our love!

Spurs can accommodate up to 2,900 away fans for the right game, so there’s a good section devoted to them in the south west of the stadium. There’s very little space between home and away fans, and though there’s not much history of violence between supporters, the stewards do not run the risk and can eject anyone they think is disturbing the peace. However, the crowd is usually buzzing for every single game, as Tottenham boast some of the most energetic and football-loving fans in the game! There is a police presence which can be intimidating, but I’ve never noticed any trouble.
